"We were so impressed we ordered 10 of these bad boys !!!"

This an engineer / audio geeks paradise, can the Enhanced Audio M600 mount really make that much difference ? Well read on....

We heard about these mounts from various sources, and they come highly recommended from none other than from Mick Glossop (Van Morrison,Frank Zappa,Waterboys). So we wondered what the fuss was all about. Well we got one, so what's the fuss... What's the fuss !!! these things are awesome, they change everything you ever thought you knew about sound, we could rave on and on about them but it's probably just better to leave it to the big guns...but before we do let us just say this...

"The M600 offered a real improvement to the microphone"

"When I received the M600 in its very nice box and packaging I was impressed with its build quality and overall looks. I ran some quick tests recording a powerful male voice, using a Soundelux 251 microphone with a Neve preamp, with no compression or Eq.

I was astonished, the sound was clean and transparent, it sounded just great! The M600 offered a real improvement to the microphone, an excellent product and a job well done".

"I can tell you that the recordings I've made with this mic and the M600 in our main hall absolutely sparkle with realism."

"As a classical recording engineer for the University of Wisconsin, I really appreciate those who make quality equipment that I can rely on. I'm getting quite used to my M600 and am finding it makes a excellent mount for my Neumann USM69I.

I can tell you that the recordings I've made with this mic and the M600 in our main hall absolutely sparkle with realism. It is sturdy and inspires confidence when working with an expensive and precious microphone.

I will certainly recommend this mount to anyone and it will be the only mount I purchase from now on. Thanks for paying attention to an area that is often overlooked".

"On some sources it felt like the world's best hi-pass filter ! Far more effective than I had ever hoped it would be!"

"When my M600 arrived - and so fast! The beautiful packaging told me I was in for a treat. I have to tell you that it is amazingly effective! It makes the bottom end vastly tighter than when using standard shockmounts and reveals a clearer top end, giving me a more controlled, and focused sound.

On some sources it felt like the world's best hi-pass filter ! Far more effective than I had ever hoped it would be!"

"I have to admit that I want more of these and proud to say that I'm very satisfied with the Enhanced Audio M600."

I finally found some time to do some tests with the Enhanced Audio M600, and I have to say I'm very surprised!! Yes, it changed the sound of the microphone.

I did some comparison tests with a stereo pair of mics and the one held within the M600 was really different sounding. In this case for the better, with an enhanced top end and a more "controlled" bottom.

I have to admit that I want more of these and proud to say that I'm very satisfied with the Enhanced Audio M600.

"I perceived a more detailed sound in my voice than with the standard clip mount, less harshness in the mids and highs and overall a more clear reproduction."

Upon receiving my Enhanced Audio M600 I did a quick test with my Neumann TLM103 microphone recording spoken word and a little guitar. I perceived a more detailed sound in my voice than with the standard clip mount, less harshness in the mids and highs and overall a more clear reproduction. It did, however, pick up my footsteps on the way back to the computer. But having heard this sound many times before, these are my most 3D-like footsteps ever!!

Thanks for such a great product and congratulations for your customer service! I have shopped at Pro Audio retailers before, I've bought music related products online before. But never have I received this level of attention and genuine concern for my satisfaction as a customer.

"I really do like the M600, I love the universal aspect of the mount and the way I can leave it on the stand and quickly swap between mics."

I initially bought the M600 for use with a Groove Tubes MD-1 (the first model tube mic they made) as it's mount died pretty much immediately. The mic had been sitting idle for a couple years because I was at odds trying to figure out how to 'rebuild' the custom mount that came with it. The M600 brought the MD-1 out of the box again and the clarity it gives to this tube mic is outstanding!

"We are very pleased with the M600 and we have therefore ordered another one for stereo recordings."

We tested the M600 with Dobro, Guitars, Vocals, Bass and Percussion using Neumann, Schoeps, DPA and 'good old' SM57 mics. We also compared suspension shockmounts under the same conditions. With the M600 we found that the recordings were more open, precise and seem to come alive in a way, adding depth to the recordings, a kind of 3D effect, very pleasant to hear with vocals..

Bass was more defined and we found that the high strings of the Dobro and Guitars were 'ringing' longer than with the suspension shockmounts, also with strumming there was better definition between the different strings. Using the suspension shockmounts the recordings were flat and dull compared to the M600. We are very pleased with the M600 and we have therefore ordered another one for stereo recordings.

"The recordings I've made using the Enhanced Audio M600 and my collection of microphones have been nothing short of amazing."

The recordings I've made using the Enhanced Audio M600 and my collection of microphones have been nothing short of amazing and focused on acoustic guitar, stand-up bass and trumpet. What's also very cool about the mount is that you can position it anyway you want, it is so flexible you can get right in there with the correct angle aimed the way you want it".

"The first thing we noticed and impressed with was a more detailed response in the high end with a much cleaner and greater detail and precision of the stereo image. The microphone sounded more "open" and alive."

Using the M600 with a Royer SF12 stereo microphone as an ambient /distant mic to record a drum session, my assistant and I made a comparative test for the M600. With the Royer SF12 in the same position, same signal path (Royers split cable direct into a pair of Amek CIB then straight into Protools via an Apogee AD 8000) The only changes made were the drum take and the shockmount, using a standard elastic mount instead of the M600.

I have to say I've been pleasantly impressed by the acoustic performance of the M600. During recording I wasn't really sure, so we waited a few minutes before listening back to the comparative recordings we'd made. Making a blind A/B comparison the differences were clearly audible both by myself the drummer and the assistant.

The first thing we noticed and impressed with was a more detailed response in the high end with a much cleaner and greater detail and precision of the stereo image. The stereo information as reproduced by the Royer SF12 was much more cleaner and readable with a tighter positioning of the sources in the X and Y-axis. The microphone sounded more "open" and alive.

Using the standard elastic mount the sound was somewhat dead and dull with what seemed to be a veil of mud in the low frequencies, but with the M600 a cleaner and tighter low-end response. The construction of the M600 is really brilliant, after a couple of attempts at quickly setting the microphone in position at the centre of the rings it all became fast and easy. In conclusion I would have to say it's worth every single euro.

"I was astonished to hear what I perceived to be a purer, almost "more solid" and defined sonic structure in the instrument's imaging."

I am quite impressed with the M600. I was initially quite skeptical about its ability to improve the sonic performance of my microphones. I bought it solely for the universality of its design, which is both elegant and striking. This function it fulfilled beautifully.

I've only had the opportunity to use it during one session thus far, but on that one session (an acoustic guitar recorded using a GT MD1A tube mic) I was astonished to hear what I perceived to be a purer, almost "more solid" and defined sonic structure in the instrument's imaging.

I was not looking for this and certainly did not expect to hear it. None the less, there it was. I can happily say I am a completely satisfied customer. I applaud you on an innovative product in both design and concept. I appreciate innovation and when it is executed with both skilful precision and passion, beautiful things can happen.

"I really do love the product and have just ordered a second M600"

Received my M600 in perfect condition, I love it already simply due to the fact that it is obviously heavy-duty, simple, and functional.

Nothing to wear out (like those annoying rubber bands) no more "spiderwebs"! I really do love the product and have just ordered a second M600, I'm certainly going to show them off to my musical friends.

I think you've got yourself a winner here. Congratulations.

My previous mic "definition" has become now "high-definition"

David... your M600 is great!!! My previous mic "definition" has become now "high-definition". Besides the great sound, the mechanics are very solid and handy at the same time. I'm using it together with my Brauner VM-1 and the SE reflection Filter going straight into my SSL mic-pre and Apogee converters: BIG TIME!

I will tell all my colleagues around Italy about the M600.
Take care and thanks again.

"To my surprise I could hear an improvement in the M600 recordings"

I had read the reviews of the M600 and was curious, but skeptical. I listened to various recordings using the same mics and sources and comparing shock mounts and hard mounts to the M600; to my surprise I could hear an improvement in the M600 recordings. I decided to order one to hear for myself. I do all acoustic classical-type chamber music recordings utilizing Gefell and Neumann microphones, with Millennia and True preamps. Differences in the signal chain are quickly revealed. I first tried the M600 with a Gefell M930.

The first thing I noticed was that I had to slightly lower the gain level on the mic preamp, as I was getting a hotter signal with the M600. Sonically, I initially noticed increased clarity and detail in the lowest bass regions, and the highest treble regions; however, as I continued to listen and compare, finer detail was revealed across all frequencies. I tried a side-by-side comparison using a matched pair of AKG 414 XLIIs;

One alternating between the AKG shock mount and a hard mount; the second remained in the M600. The M600 mic again had a hotter output than its sibling. Mics were swapped between mounts, cables were swapped, preamp channels were swapped; yet the mic in the M600 consistently provided a hotter output level; as well as higher resolution and detail. As I tried other mics with the M600, the results were consistent.

I have ordered a second M600. Nice work, David!

"Enhanced Audio M600 Proves its worth to Barry Hufker"

Sound engineers know that the tools they choose have a dramatic impact on the quality of their recordings. They select their microphones with near-religious fervor and could argue endlessly about the pros and cons of different signal processing equipment. They justifiably pay tremendous amounts of money for slight improvements in digital to analog conversion and use cables that are painstakingly engineered to convey every possible sonic nuance. All of these links in the audio chain have received ample press to the relative exclusion of one humble device: the mic mount. Sound engineers might be surprised to learn that a mic mount's effect on the quality of a recording can be as dramatic as all of the other tools that they so happily obsess about!

Barry Hufker is a case in point. With over 35 years in pro audio, Hufker is currently an associate professor of audio production at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, a program that he founded 18 years ago. When not teaching the next generation of sound engineers, Hufker records classical, jazz, and international music in and around St. Louis. To his credit are recordings for CD, DVD, and broadcast of Bobby McFerrin, Arlo Guthrie, Dave Brubeck, Chanticleer, and his regular engagements with the Opera Theater of St. Louis and the St. Louis Chamber Chorus. Like most sound engineers that have such extensive experience, Hufker is passionate about his equipment, opinionated about his craft, and skeptical about new gear and its inevitably inflated marketing boasts.

"Over the years, I've met many interesting people in this line of work," said Hufker. "I've come to know and trust Brad Lunde and Richard Bowman at Las Vegas Pro Audio, a distribution company that I do business with. I like the way they run things. They focus on relatively smaller companies that design unique and interesting products, like API, the makers of my cherished 3124 four-channel preamp. There is no doubt that if they choose to rep a company, that company is doing something special.

"So when they told me I had to try an Enhanced Audio M600 mic mount, I suspended the cynicism and skepticism that I might have unleashed had the recommendation come from someone else," he continued. "But all the same, it was going to take some hard evidence to convince me that a mic mount could really make a noticeable difference."

When the mic mounts arrived, Hufker brought them unopened to his class of upper-division audio majors. To begin, they hooked up his Brauner VMA tube condenser, a microphone for which Hufker's voice fairly trembles with respect and love, to its factory mount. They recorded spoken word and, as Hufker fully expected, the VMA sounded great. No surprise. Then they swapped out the factory mount for the Enhanced Audio M600.

"We were very rigorous - everything was exactly the same," he explained. "I heard the difference, but it was still hard to believe. With the Enhanced Audio M600, everything sounded crisper, clearer, more detailed. The bass had better definition and the high end was cleaner. To be honest, I was startled. The microphone which, moments before had sounded so wonderful, sounded even better!"

Shortly thereafter, Hufker found himself at the St. Ambrose Church in St. Louis recording the St. Louis Chamber Chorus. The church is highly reverberant, and Hufker fought the competing demands of distance from the chorus for a nice blend of voices versus proximity to the chorus to cut down on reverberation. He started with his pair of Sonodore RCM402 omni condensers in their factory mounts. "I found the best balance I could between too close and too far, but it still wasn't all I was hoping for," Hufker recalled. "I switched out the factory mounts for the Enhanced Audio M600s and changed nothing else. Same position, same preamp, same everything.

"It was hard to believe, but the M600s gave me the sound I was looking for and was afraid I wasn't going to get! The bass was tighter, the mid-range was clearer, the highs were clean, the stereo image tightened up, and all of a sudden I was capturing a presence in the chorus that moments before I had been missing!"

Hufker concluded, "I had recorded two samples - one with the factory mounts and one with the Enhanced Audio M600 mounts. Listening to them back to back, it was immediately apparent that the new mounts made a dramatic improvement. So I've gone from being a non-believer to a believer. I have to admit, the M600 does what Enhanced Audio promises it will do!"
